Luckily, I stumbled upon Alexandra. Her whole program is virtual, which I wasn't sure about at first, but the training I've received has been more valuable than any of the in-person sessions I've done with other trainers.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - See the original review on Yelp.

I adopted my girl Phoebe from the shelter in April, and I knew getting a shelter dog would require a lot of tender love and care. I was committed to get her training and I knew that I wanted only positive reinforcement training in fear of possibly traumatizing my already traumatized dog if I tried other training methods. I did a lot of research, and unfortunately so many trainers are not forthcoming about the methods and tools they use. I've done a few consultations with trainers who seemed promising on their websites, only to find out they use e-collars or prong collars, which I did not want for my girl.

Luckily, I stumbled upon Alexandra. Her whole program is virtual, which I wasn't sure about at first, but the training I've received has been more valuable than any of the in-person sessions I've done with other trainers. The training sessions are all a series of games, which Phoebe was so receptive to. She was able to learn so many new cues in record time. I was really impressed to see my dog work through the game challenges and figure out what to do on her own! I feel that the program has set a solid foundation for when I start to practice our training outside with more distractions. Remember that training requires commitment outside of training sessions! You will get the most out of your dog's training if you consistently practice the games with them everyday.

Alexandra is also very flexible with scheduling. There were a couple times I had to cancel and reschedule sessions last minute due to unexpected work meetings, and she was very accommodating. She's also given me referrals to other local trainers who could help me with in person socialization with Phoebe.

If you are looking for a good positive reinforcement training program for your pup, definitely give Dog Savvy a chance! Alexandra's love and passion for dogs and all animals is admirable and her wealth of knowledge has been invaluable to me and Phoebe.

Both of our dogs are more confident and much better citizens since they started training. Alexandra navigates Zoom training remarkably and we don't feel like we're losing anything from not having in-person sessions.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - See the original review on Google.

We have two chihuahua mix rescues who have both benefited greatly from their training with Alexandra. One of our dogs was reactive, and its now much easier to bring him on walks as well as have visitors to our home. The other was quite skittish which made training on our own tricky. Alexandra really helped us navigate his needs and build up his confidence. Both of our dogs are more confident and much better citizens since they started training. Also, while we originally did training in person and weren't quite sure how well virtual training would go, Alexandra navigates Zoom training remarkably and we don't feel like we're losing anything from not having in-person sessions.

Learning from Alex has been great and her method of training has been a fun and insightful process for both us and our puppy. We've made a lot of progress and always look forward to our next lesson and watching our bond with our puppy grow.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - See the original review on Yelp.

Wife and I are first time dog owners who recently took the leap to get our own dog, a Westie pup. From potty training to learning new commands to managing separation anxiety, it's been a steep learning curve on navigating becoming new puppy parents but having Alex as our trainer has been a blessing. She's been a calm and wise teacher during this relative time of chaos within our household as our pup has gone through various phases from chewing everything under the sun with his teething to developing the zoomies (no idea what that meant beforehand) to barking at every dog.

Learning from Alex has been great and her method of training has been a fun and insightful process for both us and our puppy. We've made a lot of progress and always look forward to our next lesson and watching not only our puppy grow, but also our bond with them through these lessons.

We would highly recommend subscribing to Alex's training programs and the fact that we're able to do them in our home virtually has been a plus. She's been a fantastic partner in our journey as new pup parents and would encourage anyone from experienced pet owners to new ones to learn from her.

I found Alexandra when I was looking for a trainer to help me with some training tools and my dog’s incessant biting. I am so grateful to have found her! We did a virtual session which was honestly amazing. She walked me through each step of each training tool and it was great. Because of how the sessions work I know that I am doing the training task correctly since she tells me how to do it, watches me, and makes any needed corrections. I loved the virtual appointment and plan on doing more with her!

Using the help of Dog Savvy and Alexandra’s virtual 8-week training program I am happy to report Roli is thrilled to stay home by herself and I can lead a totally normal life!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - See the original review on Google.

When I adopted my rescue dog called Roli I had no idea she would have separation anxiety, or indeed what that was. After a few weeks I discovered I could not leave her alone at all! It was pretty difficult to manage day to day life constantly worrying about whether she was okay. When I met Alexandra she was so calm and reassuring I was immediately relieved.

Using the help of Dog Savvy and Alexandras virtual 8 week training program I am happy to report Roli is thrilled to stay home by herself and I can lead a totally normal life, leaving her at home and relaxed when need be!

Initially I was a little concerned that meeting virtually would not work well but in fact it was super easy and worked just as well if not better then in person because Roli had to get used to only me being in the room doing the training. The first session was a little difficult but after that it all ironed out.

I cannot stress enough how hesitant I was that the training would even work with Roli -- I was sure she was beyond help. But it really does work if you stick with it!

All of our sessions with Lexi have been online, which we were initially skeptical about. Turns out, they were amazing! It's nice to train from home where our dog is comfortable and we can control the environment.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - See the original review on Yelp .

Dog training has been a breeze thanks to Lexi. She has a positive, game-based training approach that not only makes training fun for us owners but also makes it into something lasting for our puppy. In just a few weeks he is able to hold a considerable sit/stay, has vastly improved recall and now LOVES his crate since Lexi has taught him crate-based training games. She has even managed to help curb the biting, jumping and separation anxiety. Best of all, his manners around the house are immaculate since we've been able to incorporate lessons from these games into our daily routine.

All of our sessions with Lexi have been online, which at first we were skeptical about. Turns out, they were amazing! It's nice to be able to train from home where our dog is comfortable and we can control the environment. Lexi is able to lead a session from afar just as- if not more- effectively as in person. We would recommend her services to anyone!

I really can’t recommend Alexandra enough. At our first session, my dog wouldn’t come out of hiding but he’s a very different dog now thanks in large part to Dog Savvy.

Prit Patel

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - See the original review on Google.

My dog is a two-ish year old terrier rescue, gentle but also very fearful. Training with previous owners had incorporated negative reinforcement, so he lacked confidence and the ability to be curious/playful.

This is why Alexandra’s positive game-based training really spoke to me. It was exactly what he needed to relearn not only the basics of obedience, but how to be a dog.

Everything the dog learns is built upon a game of choice. It’s a process that views dogs not as machines but as the thoughtful, complex, silly creatures they actually are.

Alexandra’s approach is built upon love and compassion for dogs, but there is nothing woo woo about it. It’s progressive, and well-researched, which is emblematic of Alexandra as well. As a first-time dog owner, I learned so much about every aspect of dog ownership. I came to her with lots of questions, and she was always prepared with insights and resources to help guide me.

I really can’t recommend Alexandra enough. At our first session, my dog wouldn’t come out of hiding to even see her, but she brought lots of patience, understanding (and treats). He’s a very different dog now than he was that first session, beyond just being able to absolutely crush a sit-stay. He’s more trusting, playful, and confident. I attribute that in large part to Dog Savvy.

Lexi has been such a fabulous trainer in helping us with our severely behaviorally challenged, traumatized rescue dog. She is knowledgeable, patient, compassionate, and generous with her time and support. She has helped us develop tools to attune to our dog's triggers and needs, as well as better manage her unwanted behaviors (i.e., aggression and anxiety). Lexi has been a literal life-saver!

In just one session, Alexandra was able to teach me positive ways to help my puppy exert his energy and influence his behavior to make good decisions on his own. Our remote session was very affordable and ultimately very helpful.”

Kristen G., Fitness Instructor, Bodhi’s Mom

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - See the original review on Yelp.com.

Alexandra is a really great dog trainer! Due to COVID-19, we had a two hour remote session that was affordable and ultimately very helpful.

Before training, Bodhi, my 4 month old, high-energy mixed-breed puppy had started turning his energy into disruptive behavior. Since I'm around him a lot more now that shelter-in-place is in effect, I started to become worried that he is becoming too co-dependent and things would not look good once I return to work. Alexandra agreed to do a remote session and addressed/had solutions to all of the issues I have been dealing with.

In just two hours, Alexandra was able to teach me positive ways to exert his energy and influence his behavior to make good decisions on his own. Since then, Bodhi has been a lot calmer and receptive to my instruction. Thanks for making my WFH situation easier, Alexandra. Bodhi and I look forward to more sessions with you as we still have some work to do!

“Alexandra and the team at Dog Savvy are simply the best! I started working with her when my English Springer Spaniel was 10 weeks old, and her training methods made all the difference.”

Elizabeth Smiley, Ellis’s Mom

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - See the original review on Yelp.com.

Alexandra and the team at Dog Savvy Los Angeles are simply the best! I started working with her when my English Springer Spaniel was 10 weeks old, and her training methods made all the difference. My pup is high drive and high energy, and her relationship and game-based training was the perfect way to help the two of us bond and for him to focus his energy. We have had about 4 or 5 2-ish hr. private training sessions that have continued to be worth their weight in gold! I am frequently stopped during walks or out at coffee shops with complements to how well behaved the pup is; people can't believe he's only 5 months old!

Not only am I beyond satisfied with the training, Alexandra was an integral part in socializing my puppy. On multiple occasions she set us up with other pups she was training that were around the same age with the same energy level. Puppy socialization is SO important in the development process; because of COVID-19 as well as a slower vaccination schedules due to extremely overbooked vets at the moment, she provided a safe way for the pups to play and interact. I cannot recommend Alexandra enough to any new puppy parent!

“Love Dog Savvy's training method! We started training for our Great Dane puppy at 3 months old. We knew it was imperative to start early and the growth he has made in just a couple months is amazing.!”

Sap Hillel, Lawyer, Louie’s Mom

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - See the original review on Yelp.com.

Love Alexandra's training method! We first got our great dane puppy at 2 months old and started the training sessions at 3 months old. Because he is growing rapidly, we knew it was imperative to start early, and the growth he has made in just a couple months is really amazing.

Lexi guided us on how to teach him the basics of making good choices weather or not he is given a command to do so. I like that the training is based on positive reinforcement, getting the dog to think before he does, and also to listen to you the first time rather than having to repeat commands over and over. I also feel much closer to my puppy because of the bond/respect created by this training method.

Glad we chose Dog Savvy and highly recommend her!

“There is a reason Alexandra has so many positive reviews. She is a calm and helpful presence, and I would recommend her to anyone and everyone.”

Anna M., Marketing Director, Melrose’s Mom

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - See the original review on Yelp.com.

adopted a 4-year-old terrier mix from the shelter, only to find out he was reactive, fear-aggressive, and undersocialized (all words I was not familiar with). He could not be around anyone without barking and lunging. Walks were stressful since we live in the city and pass people on the street all the time (not to mention, motorcycles, bikes and scooters).

I am so thankful for Alexandra's training because now I have the tools I need to work on his reactivity. I saw improvement about a month into our training. Upon first meeting her, he reacted like he does with anyone else. But slowly and patiently, Alexandra won him over and now she's his buddy! I also appreciated the weekly virtual sessions and her offer to do such a session with my boyfriend (who had not spent much time in my apartment after 9 months of dating, because of my dog).

Lastly, I have continued using the training techniques after our sessions were over and continue to see improvement. Even neighbors notice that he is no longer barking as much. He even became friends with one of them and looks for her on our walks!

There is a reason Alexandra has so many positive reviews. She is a calm and helpful presence, and I would recommend her to anyone and everyone.

My dog Bilbo and I have been taking Lexi's dog training classes for a few weeks and it's the best decision I could have made! She is extremely patient and understanding and will work with you wherever you are at. I had a lot of anxiety initially because Bilbo is reactive to other dogs but just a few weeks in, Bilbo can walk close to other dogs and not even pay attention to them. Bilbo is a much happier dog now and we are making so much progress every single week. Thanks, Lexi!

"Alexandra has helped us find ways to live our lives and at the same time help our dog feel more comfortable around other people. Highly recommend!”

Josh Burrows, Stray Angels Films, Peanut's Dad

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - See the original review on Yelp.com.

For a long time, my wife and I felt completely lost about how to train our rescue Pitbull, Peanut, who had serious separation anxiety and stranger aggression. Alexandra has helped us find ways to live our lives and at the same time help our dog feel more comfortable by giving us the tools to anticipate her triggers, calm her down when she goes over threshold, and desensitize her for the next time.

A year later, Peanut isn't perfect by any means but even so, knowing that we're working toward achievable goals and seeing her improve day by day has been one of the most rewarding things I've ever done and my wife and I have Alexandra to thank for that.

"I couldn’t take normal walks without my dog before I started training with Dog Savvy. Lexi has been an absolute miracle worker for my pup and me."

- El O., Motion Graphics Designer, Bea's Mom

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - See the original review on Yelp.com.

Lexi has been an absolute miracle for my pup and me. I have a 10-year-old rescue that has gone through a dog attack. She was afraid of absolutely everything and had some serious aggression issues.

Lexi's approach worked from day one. The improvement was gradual, steady and permanent. We reached a point where my dog and I can really understand each other. It's been a year since we started working with Lexi. My pup is a lot more relaxed, easy on walks and has started showing signs of positive interest in other dogs.

Lexi doesn't just work on your dog, she works on your relationship and communication with your dog. My dog is more confident and so am I. Everything got easier. Having a dog got fun again!

I couldn't be more grateful for Dog Savvy Los Angeles. Thank you!

"Emmie was so reactive, we couldn’t take her anywhere. We've made great progress these past few months since meeting with Lexi."

- Adam LeBow, Program Director at L.A. Opera, Emmie's Dad

When we brought home Emmie, an 8 month old Schnauzer/Terrier mix who was found on the streets, she had a lot of anxiety issues.  We quickly realized we weren't able to "fix" them on our own. We turned to Lexi who gave us great guidance and advice on how to ease her anxiety and properly manage it.

We've made great progress these past few months since Lexi's visits and whenever we've had a setback Lexi has been available to guide us.  While Emmie's anxiety isn't gone, she's getting more confident by the day.  Lexi has reassured us that we are good dog owners and training a dog with Emmie's issues is hard work and should be commended.

Lexi has a depth and sensitivity towards both dogs and humans alike and understands dog psychology so well, she can quickly assess the needs of all involved, and find the best, positive, training approach.  She has a huge bag of tricks and can find something that works for any dog.

Pawline, my Pug, and I could not be happier now.  Free from frustration, and anxiety, my dog is the calm, well-trained companion I've always wanted.  Lexi is simply...the best.  I can not recommend her highly enough.

"I couldn’t walk my dog, Jax, down the street without him erupting into embarrassing barking fits. I can now take Jax on peaceful walks without him barking even once!"

Staci K., Optics Engineer, Jax's Mom

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - See the original review on Yelp.com.

A few months back I rescued a cute little 2 year old pup named Jax. I knew he had some issues with men, but I quickly realized I was not equipped enough on my own to train him out of his bad behaviors of aggressively barking at every man he saw (and shortly after adopting him, at every dog he saw), even from quite some distance away. I was lucky enough to have found Lexi, who helped me immensely. She was so flexible and willing to work around my schedule and came out of her way to meet me in my neighborhood.

Her methods are not only effective, but they also allow you to bond with your dog as you're training him/her, unlike other harsher methods. She really took her time to teach me how to train Jax based on his specific problems, and has always been available for me to ask questions about specific situations. I can now take Jax on peaceful walks without him barking even once, and he is even comfortable in crowds and will play with other dogs! I know I can count on Lexi if any other problems pop up in the future and I could not be happier with the results I've seen thanks to her help! I definitely couldn't have gotten Jax to where he is today without her.
